Member-Benefit Program Brings Value to Community Residents and Businesses

As your electric cooperative, it's important for San Isabel Electric Association to provide its member-owners with safe, reliable power. Yet our service goes beyond the wires. It's also important that we offer additional value that has an enormously positive impact on everyone in the community. And as a Touchstone Energy® co-op, we strive to meet that goal on a daily basis.

That's why San Isabel Electric, in conjunction with the other Touchstone Energy co-ops serving 22 million member-owners nationwide, has launched the Co-op Connections® program. This new card-based member benefit program is designed to deliver added value to our members - residential and business - by offering valuable discounts at participating local and national businesses. And it's free.

SIEA's Co-op Connections wallet cards and key fobs provide you the ticket to savings on everything from travel to auto parts. The card is accepted by more than 90 national retailers. And not just in the SIEA service area. Whenever a Co-op Connections cardholder - whether from SIEA or from one of the hundreds of Touchstone Energy co-ops across the country - shows the Co-op Connections card at a participating business, they receive a discount.

Another way the card will help you save is through the pharmacy discount portion of the program. SIEA members who don't have insurance or have limited prescription drug insurance coverage can receive savings on prescriptions ranging from 10% to 60 % off the retail price. The card is recognized at more than 60,000 national, regional and local pharmacies.

SIEA is currently in the process of recruiting local retailers to participate in the program. This is a win-win for everyone as you, the member, will receive great deals on local products and services and your co-op business member benefits from increased customer visits as well as the free marketing and advertising provided by the program. Beginning in November, SIEA will post local businesses participating in the program to our website at www.siea.com.

So while our number one priority is keeping the lights on, San Isabel Electric is committed to bringing additional value to our members and the communities we serve. The Co-op Connections program is just another way to accomplish that goal. That's the cooperative difference.

pillsPharmacy Discounts up to 60% off prescription drugs

One of the most valuable features of the Co-op Connections card is the pharmacy discount. While not insurance, the discount can deliver savings of 10% to 85% on prescription drugs at more than 60,000 national and regional pharmacy locations including CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target and more. This includes over 20,000 independently-owned local locations as well.

The pharmacy discount has been widely used by co-ops that are members of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, resulting in a combined savings of $31.3 million on prescriptions.

With rising health insurance premiums and high deductibles, Americans are looking for new ways to save money and lower out-of-pockets costs. Cooperative Healthy Savings and Cooperative Healthy Savings Plus were created to bring meaningful discounts on dental, vision and hearing services as well as 24/7 doctor consultations. One membership includes your entire immediate family.

Cooperative Healthy Savings Plus will allow you to enjoy savings on Dental, Vision and Hearing services for just $8.95 a month. One membership includes your immediate family. You will also have access to Consult A Doctor™ doctors by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Physicians can discuss symptoms, recommend treatment options, and prescribe medication when appropriate.

Option 2: Cooperative Healthy Savings will provide you to access to savings on Dental, Vision and Hearing services for just $4.25 a month per person.

These programs are administered by New Benefits, the same company that provides the free pharmacy discounts. The dental network provides members with discounts of 15% to 50% on dental services at over 81,000 dental practice locations nationwide. The Vision program is the most comprehensive in the U.S. and includes ophthalmologists, optometrists, independent optical centers and national chain locations such as Pearle Vision, JCPenney, Sears, Target, LensCrafters and even QualSight LASIK. The Hearing benefit can save up to 60% off average National Retail Pricing on over 100 models of name brand hearing instruments.

Dental, Vision and Hearing benefits are NOT included in your free Co-op Connections Card program and are available only at additional cost.
