Banner days are underway in Walsenburg

The dreams of two Walsenburg business women became a reality as the initial phase of the 7th Street Beautification project was completed. Colorful banners now adorn the western gateway into the town that lies 45 minutes south of Pueblo. Jacque Sikes and Jann Faris-Vail began thinking about the project nearly two years ago as a way to welcome visitors traveling from the west into Walsenburg and to also highlight businesses located along the corridor. The project got into full swing this past fall and they watched in below zero temperatures as San Isabel Electric Association Line crews began installing the colorful banners the week of Christmas. more...

Electricity was not the only thing flowing this past December as San Isabel Electric Association employees gave generously to make the holiday season brighter for three families in the SIEA service territory. Contributions of goods and cash from the cooperative employees made it possible to donate toys, clothes, food and other treasured items to the needy families. more...
